Situation
Our Principal Mission:
To enable veterans to successfully graduate from college and enter the workforce.
Our Challenge:
A recent study published in June 2009 stated that 60% of all college freshmen successfully graduate from a college or university after six years. While no clear or recent study exists to highlight veteran success, information from historical studies indicates that within the last two decades, veteran success from higher education is 10% or lower. We find this unacceptable, which is why we are committed to raising that number so that it is on par with the overall student average.
Another recent study has provided additional insight into what veterans need today to allow the successful transition from “boots to books to business”. This study, plus our own research, provides the framework for the programs that Aurora will support.
